DWT Direct by NEXXAA. One grid, from load to confirmation.
Still using Defra’s spreadsheet?
Since 1 October 2026, permitted sites in England and Wales that receive waste must report each receipt digitally to Defra.
The spreadsheet means re-typing the same carrier, address and EWC codes every load, starting again when an entry bounces, and nothing in one place to show an inspector.
Every load
Each load of waste your site receives has to be reported to the government Digital Waste Tracking service.
2 working days
Records must be submitted within 2 working days, starting the day after the waste arrives. Weekends and bank holidays don’t count.
Real penalties
Non-compliance can mean £1,000 fixed penalties, unlimited variable penalties, compliance notices and prosecution for false records.
Source: GOV.UK, “Digital waste tracking: check if you need to report the waste you receive”. Check the guidance for exemptions that may apply to your site. NEXXAA is listed on GOV.UK as a compatible software provider (Nexxaa Ltd – OpCheck).
